About Me

I'm Sharon Howard, and since summer 2006 I've worked at the University of Sheffield as Project Manager and researcher for various digital history projects. I’ve recently been Research Associate for the Power of Petitioning in 17th-century England project and for the Transatlantic Networks pilot project.

I enjoy creating historical datasets and making websites and online editions. Sometimes I’m available for commissions.

My research interests focus on the social history of early modern Britain (c.1500-1800 C.E.), especially crime/legal history, and women’s history. I studied for my PhD on 'Crime, Communities and Authority in Early Modern Wales' at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth (2003).
